these lines show queen Wealtheow who was most likely a Helming peace pledge. In these lines she is also displaying how well she can play the role of a perfect woman by carrying a cup around and having people drink which also symbolizes peace.

these lines show that Grendel enjoys killing and eating people especially because it says that it gives him glee just thinking about it.
Grendel translates to grinder as in the grinder of bones.
